HISTORY OF FOREIGN CARS
CONCEPT
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Opel P4 project demonstrates the long journey of a foreign car in the USSR. In the center of the installation is an unusual exhibit - a decommissioned Opel with 40 “points of interest” on its parts. It immediately attracts the visitor's attention, standing out against the background of shiny new cars.
AUTOMOBILE HISTORY
OPEL MODIFICATION
“Points of interest” tell the history of each part of the car. Opel has gone through many modifications, some of its parts were manufactured in Russia - the engine and wheels of the first-generation ‘Moskvich’, and the electrical components of the ‘Volga’. The windows were replaced, its interior was renewed, and many patches can be seen on the body. Each such modification shows the adaptation of the foreign car to Soviet realities and helps the visitors deeper understand Russian historical context.
