Pavilion ‘Made By Us’. Industrial adventure
The exhibition in the industrial pavilion was set up as part of the Russia International Exhibition and Forum that took place at VDNKh and brought together the achievements of 89 Russian regions, more than 20 corporations, and 20 Federal Ministries and Departments.

The exposition included products and technologies of more than 100 largest Russian enterprises operating in key manufacturing sectors from machinery to chemical and consumer goods industries.
CONCEPT
‘Made By Us’ is an immersive industrial journey to the past, present, and future of the Russian manufacturing industry.
A three-part division of the exposition is determined by the general concept of the Russia Exhibition and Forum. With the help of multimedia tools, we revealed the experience that our country accumulated in the 20th to 21st century; key achievements from 2017 to 2023. Discussing and describing professions, we brought up the topic of the future underlining that the future is shaped by professionals.
ENTRANCE
Entrance is the ‘Heart of industry’
Art installation describing the role of industry in everyday life is made in the form of an interactive heart with audio and visual show. By touching the heart, the visitors could hear and feel its beating and activate pulses of light running through the “vessels”. Initiation occurred encouraging visitors to further explore the exhibition in search of other interactive objects.
THE PAST
In the Inventor’s Hall, visitors could meet famous manufacturers of the past
When a visitor stood in front of a character, they could hear the story of his or her achievements, inventions or discoveries. Actors were invited to play the roles of these characters.
KEY EVENTS
ACHIEVEMENTS CHRONOLOGY
An interactive graphic collage covered three walls of the room showing the key events in the sector in chronological order from 200 to 2023. The visitors could touch certain points and run the animation, for example, they could animate a helicopter or a factory.
IMMERSION
IMMERSIVE CINEMA
In this exhibition hall, the visitors learned about modern-day achievements. The visitors and the main characters of the movie – a student Artyom and an old engineer Mikhail Ivanovich – took a virtual flight over manufacturing enterprises and regions of Russia. During the flight, they could see how the state-of-the-art technologies, products, and technological devices are developed and used in everyday life.

The immersion effect was achieved due to the impact on different senses. The audience was on a mobile platform vibrating and moving “in time” with the events on the screen. The scenes according to the script were accompanied by additional special effects: light, sound, water splashes, wind, and smells. The movie was demonstrated on a 360-degree panoramic screen. This performance became something of a teaser to boost audience interest and anticipation in other halls and installations.
COMPUTE CORE
ENGINEERING CENTER
‘Computer core’ was the central installation. On the faces of the cube, we located punched cards summarizing key digital technologies used in design and manufacturing. By applying the cards to the reading devices, the visitors could see the information on large-scale LED screens and could control the screen by rotating the models and switching between the slides.
INSTALLATION
ASSEMBLY SHOP
A large-scale multimedia installation imitating an industrial conveyor was created to make the hall look like an assembly shop. Part of the conveyor was made to imitate a continuously moving assembly line with various parts. Touch panels were integrated to study the parts. When a part appeared on the panel, visitors could touch it and open a card showing the name of the part and description of the corresponding equipment.
DEMONSTRATION
AUTOMAKING AND ELECTRIC BUS
Users selected a vehicle on the touch panel and activated the demonstration mode. A robotic hand grabbed the selected model and ran it along the route on the screen. The movement of the model was accompanied by an animated infographic telling visitors about the characteristics of the vehicle.
CENTRAL INSTALLATION
SHIPYARD
In the shipbuilding hall, the performance changes its format. It unfolds on a corner screen and at the same time becomes a central installation with an integrated phygital interactive technology.
EXHIBITS
HANGAR
There were 3 groups of exhibits in the hall: manned aircraft, aircraft engines, and unmanned aerial vehicles. Each group was placed in a separate stand with a self-service kiosk. Changing projection backgrounds with animation and infographics gave dynamics to the installations.
STAND OF THE UNITED AIRCRAFT CORPORATION
The exhibition stand of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) was presented as part of the exposition. The visitors could flip through a company’s catalog and go through the stages of aircraft assembly (this game was developed by the UAC). Using a joystick the visitors could choose a model and fix the parts on the aircraft body.
THEME-BASED SECTIONS
INDUSTRIAL LABORATORY

To distinguish between various installations, we divided them into 3 theme-based sections – chemistry inside a human, chemistry around us, chemistry on the planet. In the middle of the hall, there was a stylized laboratory. On the laboratory walls, the visitors could see a screen and interactive points. By touching the point, the visitors could see effective lighting and a video telling them in simple words and graphical images about this section.
INTERACTIVE MAP
REGIONAL BRANDS OF RUSSIA
On the interactive map of Russia, we managed to demonstrate popular craftwork items of 89 regions of Russia. For each Federal district, we made a touch panel and a display window. On the panel, the visitors could see a digital catalog with products from the regions of the Federal district. And in the display window, full-size exhibits were displayed such as musical instruments, costumes, toys, household items, jewelry and bijoux, food and drinks.
FINAL ROUND
FUTURE. FINALE OF EXPOSITION
Summing up, industrial occupations, the future of industry.
TRYING ON PROFESSIONS
At the end of this industrial adventure, the visitors could try on various professions and take a memorable photo. As the theme of this hall suggests, not only traditional occupations were presented but also professions of the future.
FINAL PERFORMANCE
In the last hall, we placed soft poufs for the visitors to relax and watch a movie.

During the final performance, representatives of Russian enterprises talked about their jobs and career paths. About 40 professions were presented from executives to workers.
